August 2009
Dear Fellow Toastmasters,
I admit that this is the first time in my life I’ve ever done anything like this – being the organizing chair of some large event. I don’t feel comfortable about it but I know that if I succeed, I will become a better man.
I believe, “Success is a journey…” So I would like to share with you small steps we have taken so far in our journey:
1. We have chosen Chaophya Park Hotel as our venue and we have been discussing about details on food, rooms for workshops etc. to make sure that you all will get the best out of it.
2. We have formed up our organizing committee, at present, with 30 Division T leaders. I’m sure it will be very good opportunity for them to practice communication and leadership skills.
3. We have been working closely with District 80 Senior Officers to find competent and entertaining workshop speakers because we strongly believe that Toastmasters is about education.
4. We have drafted up our programs to make sure that the event will fill with varieties and a well balance of entertaining programs.
5. We have sold 201 early-bird tickets to our friends from Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore during the 2009 Hong Kong Annual Convention (15-17 May 2009).
Thank you Toastmasters for giving me a chance to feel uncomfortable.
