Message from the Division T Governor

August 2009

Without Goals,We Do Not Know Where To Go and Have No Fun.

At the beginning of our Toastmasters year, the 1st of July,we must have set our goals ready and communicate within Division-Areas-Clubs down to each and every member.Every member is encouraged to set his or her personal goal. It’s our duties, fellow officers to support fellow members to achieve their goals.

And the good things is if we can picture or map the goals of members against club’s goal,we know the gap to fill in to achieve club’s goal. Club executive committee can focus in areas for improvement with limited time and resources.

This methodology can be effectively applied to areas and division level and we will know from the very beginning of the year. We know where we should improve, let’s review these pictures once again in your area ,your clubs and for yourself. The following equation is probably described this concept:

Where We Want To Go - Where We Are Now = What We Have To Do and Achieve

Our Division T’s Goals [2009-2010] are :

1.To be The President’s Distinguished Division

2.To build 1 New Club in 1 Area

Goal no.1 is to remain a champion because we have been recognized as the President’s Distinguished Division for 3 years in a row since 2007.

Goal no.2 is even more challenged because it reflects the real meaning of our theme :

“Thriving With TRUST”

The good news is we can easily achieve our goals by simply going “Back to Basics” and renew our Toastmaster’s Promise as follows:

  1. To attend Club meetings regularly
  2. To prepare all my speeches to the best of my ability, based on the projects from the Communication and Leadership manual or the Advanced Communication and Leadership manual
  3. To prepare for and fulfill assignments
  4. To provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations
  5. To help the Club maintain the positive and friendly environment necessary for all members to learn and grow
  6. To serve my Club as an officer when called upon to do so
  7. To treat my fellow Club members and our guests with respect and courtesy
  8. To bring guests to Club meetings so they can see the benefits Toastmasters membership offers
  9. To adhere to the guidelines and rules for all Toastmasters educational and recognition programs
  10. To maintain honest and highly ethical standards during the conduct of all Toastmasters activities

This is our District80’s Theme [2009-2010]
Renew Your Promise

Along our journey to pursue our dreams we will be better communicators and leaders everyday-have fun with your goals.

July 2009

If we take a close look at our personal life, we will find that trust begins within each and everyone of us-the self trust. Toastmasters Club is the place where we can develop our self confidence and build our self esteem and self trust at the same time. With self trust we can extend our trust to the world outside, yes we must begin with self trust before others trust us.

We will thrive in the tough times only with trust. The decision I made was to assume the duty to serve as Division T Governor in 2009-2010.I realized that the senior officers trusted me and offered me and our Area Governors the great opportunity to exercise our leadership lesson. The theme “Thriving With TRUST” has been crystallized in my mind because we have to grow and let our community reap the benefits of being toastmasters like us.

Thanks to our past leaders in Division T who paved the way for us and now we are ready, ready to take off-to the next level.

Our Challenging Goals are:

To be President Distinguished Division and
To Build One More Club in Each Area

We can do and we will do it together by renewing our promises once we joined Toastmasters.
