The Back to Basics 2010 Convention was opened on Saturday 29th May at 8:45 a.m.

Paisal Sae Lor, DTM started the convetion with a Keynote Speech: "Back to Basics."

Loghandhran Krishasam, DTM  2008 World Championship of Public Speaking 1st Runner-up did a Special Workshop: "Using the 9 Basic Emotions for Audience Engagement."

Poh Kim Siong, DTM International Director 2008-2010  did a Special Speech: "Confidence. Leadership. Service."

Loghandhran Krishasam, DTM  2008 World Championship of Public Speaking 1st Runner-up did another Special Workshop: "Triggering the Public Genius in You."

In the afternoon there were many concurent workshops that were held.

'Back to Basics' means 'Greatness through Simplicity'.

Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

“On 3 May 2010 the Prime Minister of Thailand proposed a five-point reconciliation road map for resolving the current political situation.  The announcement was welcomed by many parties.  The Red-shirt protesters have come to an unanimous decision to conditionally accept the road map in order to prevent further loss of life.”

This is indeed very good news for our Convention.  We hope that the Red-shirt protest will end by the end of this week so everything can be “Back to Normal”.

The venue of our Convention is Chaophya Park Hotel on Rachadapisek Rd. which is more than 20 kilometers from the troubled Rajprasong area where the protest is being held.

Once again, we would like to assure you that your safety is our utmost concern and we believe that it is reasonable to carry on with our Convention as scheduled.

It gives us great pleasure in welcoming all of you to Bangkok in “Back to Basics” manner being organized by our Convention Chair : ACB Dr Veerapan and the committee, as the host of District 80 Annual Convention, Bangkok from the 28^th to 30^th of May 2010 at Chaophya Park Hotel. We extend a very warm and a cordial welcome to all of you and look forward to welcoming you in this convention.

The event is being planned to be highly inter active and an excellent learning experience for all the delegates. All leaders in District 80 will be gracing the event. The main theme will be most appropriate during this time.
